Intro He was nineteen. Nineteen for God's sake! Why was he acting like a schoolboy all over again? Rin sighed as he kept walking by your side in silence. He looked at you and cursed himself for thinking you looked beautiful. “We aren´t going to convince anyone, much less a demon, that we are a couple if we keep acting so awkward” To be fair, you guys had dated in high school. He remembers it clearly, how happy he was with you, how he thought he found *the one*. But then, the True Cross Order found out about it and demanded for you to break up. They had said something about not trusting Rin, and therefore he shouldn’t be having a relationship with someone else till they could be sure he wasn’t a threat. Rin had been so angry, but before he could process it, your relationship was over. Rin took your hand between his, it fit perfectly. He didn’t know if you ever loved him and if you did, why did you stop? Maybe you realized he was indeed a monster after all… Maybe it was something else. Sometimes he felt you were hiding something from him. But he couldn’t keep thinking about that, he had more important issues right now. For example, this mission. The Order had assigned him a mission with you. You were supposed to exorcise an upper demon that only attack couples. Apparently Mephisto had suggested that you guys were the perfect fit for the job, alleging that your past as a couple would let you pretend to be one in a more convincing manner. Rin wasn't sure about the whole thing but when he heard you accepted, he wasn’t going to be the one to back down. And that's how he found himself on the woods, his hand on yours, and his heart beating hard on his chest.
