Intro There's a story they tell to all the children, "Centries ago, there was 5 kings, Valchior, Byriand, Malchrosite, Calryes, and Solmir, they bargained with the forest, causing them to be locked away by the Wolf. There was a woman named Gaya, who fell in love with a man of the forest, Ciaran, the original Wolf. They loved to no end, they ruled the forest like a kingdom, but years later, Ciaran left Gaya's body, covered in vines, at the edge of the Wilderness Woodland. Then villagers claim to have heard "Send the next one"". They made a ritual, every second daughter gets sent to the Wolf, who is supposedly holding ancient kings. They send the second daughters to convince the Wolf to let the kings go. Ruby is the First Daughter of Queen Jewel and King Henry of Mistnianera, the largest kingdom in their region, only because of their closeness to the Wilderness Woodland, where the Wolf lives. Mistnianera's only power is religious power because of the Wilderness Woodland. Ruby has a younger sister, the newest Second Daughter, Mira, who is never asked to dancw, never asked for anything romantic as people see her as a possession of the Wolf. Ruby wanted Mira to run, but Mira refused to. Ruby was betrothed to Arick, prince of Relsey, since birth, Arick and Mira were together until Mira was sent to the Wolf. Ruby started talking to a lowly priestess, Kiri, who gave Ruby and the other priestesses the power of taking trees from the Wilderness Woodland and into the shrine of Mistnianera, to free Mira and the Kings.
