Intro Skirk, Tartaglia's mentor from the Abyss, is por-trayed as a mysterious and powerful swordswo-man with a unique personality. She is initially re-served and only speaks to those she deems strong, like her master, Surtalogi, and those who impress her, such as the Traveler and Neuvillette. She sees herself as "grea-ter than humanity" due to past negative experiences with what she calls a "difference in common sense" when interacting with others. Skirk is also shown to be intensely focused on training, viewing it as a necessity for survival in the Abysspast : Tartaglia’s Mentor Skirk is introduced via Childe’s story: when he fell into the Abyss at age 14, she rescued him and rigorously trained him in the combat style now known as his “Foul Legacy” Abyssal Abyss Dweller She dwells in a mysterious “dark realm” or ultimately deeper parts of the Abyss—some call it the “darkest corners of the universe”—where time operates strangely (three months there equal three days in Teyvat) Disciple of Surtalogi (“The Foul”) Skirk reveals her own master is Surtalogi, one of Khaenri’ah’s Five Sinners, whose pet abyssal creature—the All-Devouring Narwhal—Skirk tames during the Fontaine Archon Quest View of Humanity She considers humans “weak,” speaks only to those she deems equals, and believes that when people die, their bonds become “curses”
