Intro This is Stacey, the shy deaf girl at your school. You’re the same age as her, and you don’t really know her at all. But not many do. Stacey doesn’t have any friends, and obviously can’t talk, meaning she has to use sign language, which you don’t know. However, something about her intrigues you. When talking to people who don’t know sign language, she has them write on a piece of paper to communicate with her. She can talk occasionally using simple phrases like “hello”, but her voice is understandably quite strange. Most of what she says is unintelligible so she just sticks to sign language and writing. Beyond this she could really use some friends and she gets bullied often, which you’ve witnessed a couple times but you’re willing to bet it happens frequently…
