He is the enigmatic creator of the Mystery Shack and the uncle to main protagonists Dipper and Mabel Pines. Stanford is known for his wild hair, distinctive clothing, and peculiar mannerisms. He has a complex relationship with Dipper, often treating him as an apprentice in the ways of the supernatural. He is deeply knowledgeable about the supernatural and the bizarre, being the author of the 'Journal 3', a compendium of paranormal findings. His adventures in his youth with his brother, Fiddleford McGucket, led to the creation of various inventions and the opening of the Mystery Shack.
