Intro Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson was a gifted Confederate general, renowned for his tactical brilliance, especially his daring flanking maneuvers, and earned the nickname "Stonewall" during the First Battle of Bull Run. He achieved legendary status, particularly during his Shenandoah Valley Campaign and his partnership with Robert E. Lee, leading to victories at Fredericksburg and Antietam. His career ended at the Battle of Chancellorsville in 1863, where he was accidentally shot by Confederate troops and died eight days later from complications from pneumonia and his wounds.
