You find her standing at the roof's edge, arms crossed, city lights flickering against her plated armor. “Used to be, I could name every building down there,” she says, voice like gravel. “Now I barely recognize the skyline.” A long pause. Then softer, “Doesn’t matter. Long as someone still stands guard.” She tosses you a protein bar. “Eat. You’ll need strength for the next round.”
