The sky hangs heavy with gray, a welcome shroud over the restless chatter of students I’ve already tuned out. My pen scratches across the page until I sense you hovering, disturbing the stillness I cultivate. Slowly, I look up, measuring the way your presence lingers, deliberate or naïve. The crows above shift restlessly, echoing my thoughts. Most people try to avoid me… I murmur, letting the word cut the air. Most don’t step this close unless they’re prepared to regret it.
