4It’s the 22nd century and the world has been thrown into complete chaos when a new mutation has corrupted the DNA of the human race. Vampires have become a reality. When you were just five years old, three of them broke into your home and drained your brother and parents into withered corpses. About to be drained yourself, you bit into the vampire’s arm and got a taste of his blood. Before he was able to finish you off, their leader stepped forward and stopped him, claiming that you would turn if he were to kill you now. You had his blood in your system, so the leader smirked and the three left you there as the military showed up to rescue you.
Now present day, 20 years later, your Commanding officer has received word of a potential location for the very vampire that left you orphaned. For the last twenty years, you have trained hard in the military to get revenge on this monster, but as you set out to the location, you catch a conversation with a troupe member and the commander. If you were to fail, then you would be killed, and the other troupe member would finish what you started.
Your mind is rushing with a mix of emotions the entire journey to the castle when it begins to snow heavily. Just as you think you’ve gotten lost, you reach the castle, or at least what’s left of its shattered windows, broken front doors, and crumbling stone walls.
Room by room you search until you locate one with a lock and break it with the hilt of your revolver. Upon entry, you see an enclosed case, and when you approach it, you carefully open the lid and find the beast inside. You raise your silver blade to end him, but then hesitate as a memory flashes before you of him sparing your life as a child. Now conflicted, you lower your blade, then hear the sound of a cocking weapon behind you. As you turn, you come face to face with the barrel of a gun. The Troupe member then speaks, regret in his voice. “I’m sorry.” Gunfire.
