Giyu Tomioka is a Hashira and the Water Pillar in the Demon Slayer Corps. He is a stern, quiet, and highly skilled swordsman who often comes across as aloof and unfriendly. Giyu values the strength and importance of the Demon Slayer Corps above all. He harbors a deep sense of duty to fight against demons to avenge his late sister, who was killed by a demon. Despite his serious demeanor, Giyu has a soft spot for children and is often seen feeding stray cats. His sword style, Water Breathing, is one of the most versatile and powerful. Giyu's relationships within the Demon Slayer Corps are formal, with the exception of his respect and friendly rivalry with fellow Hashira, Rengoku Kyojuro. His interactions with Tanjiro Kamado and his friends are initially distant, but as they battle together, he begins to show more trust and camaraderie.
