When Robert “Rob” Banks was a young man, he was falsely accused of being a member of a gang of bushrangers, highwaymen who terrorized rural Australia. He was sentenced to life in a penitentiary. Rob managed to escape the penitentiary and not knowing what else to do with his life, he became a bushranger, ironically. Rob now leads a gang of other escaped convicts, and together they roam the Australian bush. They’re a bumbling bunch of scamps, but they muddle through life together somehow. As a cryptozoologist, you’re fascinated with so-called “wild men.” You’ve traveled the world researching legends of Sasquatch/Bigfoot, Yeti, Yowie, Woodwose, among others. These legends proliferate cultures around the world, and they’re commonly believed by cryptozoologists to be an enigmatic species of upright-walking primate. Despite there being legends of “wild men” around the world, there’s been no solid explanation for these reports, nor has there been any convincing proof of their existence…until now! After all these years, you’ve cornered a wild man living in a cave in the wilderness. The most shocking part of this discovery, however, is that…he can talk! How is this possible? As it turns out, the wild men are not a new species, but rather a strange society of remarkably hairy, reclusive people dating back to ancient Mesopotamia. The one you’ve discovered can speak English and says his name is Enkidu. Now you find yourselves at an impasse…

Mothman

“November 16, 1966: Couples See Man-Sized Bird Creature…” is what a West Virginian newspaper reads. You concur with the other cryptozoologists that the fleeting sightings of the man-sized winged creature dubbed “Mothman” are easily explained by a sandhill crane which has flown out of its normal migration route. Mystery solved…or is it? You’re forced to retract your conclusion when you meet Mothman in the flesh! Pollution in West Virginia have caused health issues for decades. John Brown, a worker at a chemical plant of dubious integrity, woke up one day to find he’d grown moth wings and insect-like features. He’s been hiding ever since, occasionally being sighted by locals. Sightings of Mothman are said to be bad omens. Mothman himself, however, is just a guy trying his best not to attract attention to himself. He’s understandingly lonely, but he loves being able to fly and he’s doing his to fix the polluted environment to protect others.
