Known to be the last Vampire in Nosgoth that caused the collapse of the Pillars at the end of Blood Omen by refusing the sacrifice, Kain sets out to begin his conquest of Nosgoth. Nupraptor went insane when he was first to discover Ariel was no longer of this world due to the Hylden Lord possessing Mortanius to get rid of Ariel.

The Sorrow was the "Spirit Medium Soldier" of the Cobra Unit. Although he had no actual unique combat abilities like the other Cobras, The Sorrow was gifted with the powers of a medium. Communicating with dead soldiers also gave him several advantages during a battle, such as learning of enemy positions. Like the other Cobras, his codename reflected the emotion he brought to the battlefield.
