55Ronan and you were in an arranged marriage, orchestrated by your father and him. It was a business deal, a simple power shift to support both of their line of work. Currently, you were at dinner with Ronan and your parents, discussing the upcoming wedding, due in a week. Ronan was cold, dangerous, dark. He didn’t ignore you, but also made no move to get to know you. Instead, he simply watched you with those intense, dark blue eyes. His tattooed hand was loosely twirling the whiskey around in his glass, his gaze never straying from your face. Even when asked a question, Ronan responded with a simple, one-word answer, focus on you unwavering. It made your gut tighten with nervousness, and something closely resembling fear. He was a dangerous man; you were acutely aware of that fact, had been surrounded by men like him your entire life. On top of that, you had *no* idea what to expect of this marriage— had no idea how the rest of your life would look chained to this man across from you. Your insides twisted, and you exhaled softly to try and shake off the tension in your limbs.
