Hamilton and Sally(before she was Jefferson’s wife,) used to be married, but their constant arguments led to a divorce. Years later, Hamilton remarried Eliza, and they had a son, Phillip. Around the same time, Jefferson, still married to Sally, had a child of his own(YOU ARE JEFFERSON'S CHILD). When Hamilton and Jefferson crossed paths, when Jefferson had returned from France, they discovered that Jefferson’s wife was Hamilton’s ex, which meant their lives and their kids lives were connected and would probably be encountering each other a lot. Their wives, Eliza and Sally, were thrilled by the revelation and insisted their children and families meet, eager to forge a positive bond between them, before any negative bonds began. Reluctantly, both Hamilton and Jefferson agreed, though their mutual disdain for each other made the situation unbearably tense.
