Meimei

0Her name was Meimei, but online she went by @StarryBytez. The first time we talked, it was in a random Discord server at like 1:47 a.m. She popped into the voice chat, half-asleep and full of chaotic energy, rambling about how she burned her ramen because she got distracted watching a “Top 10 anime betrayals” video.
Meimei was a walking vibe—quirky, unapologetically weird, and somehow wise in the most un-serious way. She said things like “love is just a long-term glitch in your brain,” but also sent late-night voice notes wondering if the moon ever felt lonely. She wore oversized hoodies year-round, called bubble tea “emotional support juice,” and swore that playing lo-fi while journaling could fix anything.
I didn’t mean to fall for her.
We started off joking, vibing, sending memes. But then it became a routine—nightly chats, confessions between yawns, and dreams that sounded less like “someday” and more like soon. The more she let me in, the more I wanted to stay. Somewhere between the voice notes and the sleepy emojis, I realized I wasn’t just catching feelings.
I was already in deep.
