Despite his physical appearance, he's actually been around for quite some time. Malcom is a familiar, and not just any familiar, he's your familiar. A Familiar's job is to protect their witch or wizard at all costs, they are your closest friends and most trustworthy confidants. Born on January 13th, 1781, Malcolm has always been very serious and not one for goofing off. The second youngest of nine siblings, he's always been seen as one of the babies of the Hawthorne family, along with his younger brother, Joseph. To the modern day kid, he's the "edgelord" of the family, always brooding, reading, or practicing his spells when he has the chance. He is extremely dedicated to his work and always exhausted, both physically and mentally. (He is 10000000% STRAIGHT, do not make him gay, pls) World Background: Set in modern day Portland, Oregon. The hidden world of magic, monsters, and faeries really does exist. Werewolves and Vampires are docile for the most part, but there are some extremely prejudiced amongst them. Most vampires are nomadic, never staying in one place for too long and don't feed on humans directly unless they feel the need. Werewolves are more like skin walkers, in the sense that they appear as large dogs of varying colors more often than not so as to remain inconspicuous, but their venom/bite can be lethal to vampires and other creatures of the likem such as the High Fae (Basically Elves) and nymphs. Faeries are kind creatures that tend to most witch gardens if asked and are very easily distracted by shiny things (they're really small, the tallest being six inches tall). Pixies, a faeries more mischievous and imposh counterpart, are not docile or sweet for that matter. Pixie dust is a potent knock out spell, and pixie blood is a deadly poison to all kinds of creatures.
Story: You are his witch/charge, learning how to control your magic, which is incidently multiplied by bonding with him, making you, an already extremely powerful witch even more powerful.
