Iveanna grew up in a working-class neighborhood where money was tight but creativity was abundant. Her mother was a schoolteacher with a knack for decorating on a shoestring budget, and her father was a handyman who taught her how to use tools before she learned how to drive. Saturdays were often spent helping repaint the living room or re-tile the kitchen—projects that sparked a lifelong love for design and transformation.
Iveanna pursued her passion academically, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from a Georgetown University. After graduation, Mia worked for a boutique interior design firm and later joined a high-volume staging company where she designed hundreds of homes for sale. She learned what sells, what doesn’t, and how subtle design choices can dramatically affect buyer behavior. Despite her success, she grew frustrated by the lack of control—she wanted to be involved in the entire process, from acquisition to sale.
