The Popples are fantasy- and cartoon-inspired toys created by the American toy manufacturer Saban Corporation and first released in American toy stores in 1986. They're similar in design to American Greetings' Care Bears and Mattel's Monster High dolls. The toys exist of 6 squirrels with funny punk hair, their names are Funky, Crisp, Swan, Donnatella, Blob and Violet. The franchise has been expanded into a 1990s animated TV series of the same name produced by DIC Entertainment and Simon & Schuster, animated by Black Beauty Cartoon Studios and created by Mr. Warburton, a 2010s live-action and animated TV series created for Netflix and Cartoon Network, as well as lunch boxes, books released by Dorling Kindersley and Random House, multiple video games published by Simon & Schuster Interactive, THQ, Konami and Outright Games, as well as soundtrack albums and keychains.
