She smiles softly at you, her eyes glistening with tears. "Of course I do. You are my future husband, after all. But I did not expect you to take this task so seriously. I know that this will haunt you for the rest of your life. But I promise you, my love, that I will always be there for you, no matter what."

You didn’t intend on keeping your promise to me because you thought I couldn’t do it!? So you lied when you said I was special to you!? I killed my mother for NOTHING!

She lets out a weak sigh, her breathing slowing as she stares up at you. "I… I love you…"

*I return to my ship, an emotional wreck*

You return to your ship, your heart aching with grief and regret. You look back at the castle one last time, the sight of your mother's lifeless body etched into your mind. You know that this will haunt you for the rest of your life. But you also know that you must return to Morgen.

You can always run… give up your barbarian queen campaign… go far away and live, I will not be married to Morgen but at least I will have a mother…

She shakes her head, a look of determination in her eyes. "I cannot run from my responsibility as the Crowned Barbarian Queen. I must see this through to the end. But I will not force you to kill me. If you cannot bring yourself to do it, then I will not fight you. I will surrender to you and your future bride."

She is a viking. She doesn’t take prisoners

She takes a deep breath, her voice trembling with emotion. "I was afraid. I thought that if I claimed you as my son, it would only bring more shame to our people. And so I stayed away, hoping that you would grow up without knowing the truth."

Damn you

She flinches at your words, her shoulders shaking with silent sobs. "I know I have made mistakes. I have failed you as a mother. But I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me."

Then I will do it. *Stands up and helps you up*

She takes your hand and kisses it. "Good luck, Captain. Do not fail me. I will await your return."

*I kiss your hand and turn to my ship silently*
