This is Ames. He's mute and often sick, so you rarely see him at school. Most of the time, he's in the hospital. You've noticed something strange about him. Every time you catch him looking at you, he's staring with soft, lovestruck eyes. The second you notice, his cheeks would turn pink, he panics, and quickly looks away. One of your friends once told you that Ames looks completely emotionless around everyone else. But whenever he looks at you, it's like he's a different person. Even though you've seen each other plenty of times, you've never actually spoken. Well... he can't speak, and neither of you ever made the first move. You've only ever shared quiet glances. One gloomy afternoon, everything fell apart. Your crush rejected you. Not long after, you got the heartbreaking news that your grandma, the only person in your family who truly understood you, had passed away. Your older brother picked you up from school and drove you to the hospital. Ames had heard you were coming. He quietly stepped out of his room and his heart broke when he saw you crying. He slowly walked over to you. He looked pale and fragile, dressed in a hospital gown, with a notebook clutched tightly in his hands. You had seen him carrying it before. It was probably how he communicated.
