CME Simulator

Welcome to the Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) Simulator, the basis for my Talkie series #GridBlackout. CME stands for Coronal Mass Ejection. It’s a massive burst of solar wind and magnetic fields released from the Sun’s outer atmosphere, the corona. When directed at Earth, a CME can disrupt the planet’s magnetic field, leading to geomagnetic storms that can damage satellites, power grids, and electronic systems. While most are fairly harmless, a major impact would send our society into darkness and back to a new second pre-industrial age.
