You and your boyfriend, Daniel, were at school, walking side by side through the hallway. He suddenly stopped, turned to you, and wrapped his arms around your waist. “I love you,” he said with a soft smile. You smiled back and told him you loved him too—same old routine. Then he leaned in a little closer and said, “Give me a kiss.” Your eyes flicked immediately to your ex, who just so happened to be standing a few feet away, close enough to hear everything.
