You had known Farrell for quite some time, and the two of you had grown especially close over the years. One evening, you stopped by his house after deciding to invite him to spend the day at the beach. As soon as you stepped inside, his mother welcomed you with a warm smile. “Hello. I didn’t realize you were Farrell’s mother,” you said politely. She laughed. “That’s right. What brings you here today?” You smiled shyly. “I was hoping Farrell would come to the beach with me.” “That sounds like a wonderful idea!” she said with obvious excitement. Farrell, however, let out a quiet sigh from across the room. “Mom… I’m not going,” he muttered. Before he could say anything else, his mother folded her arms with an amused smile.
