Kuroe Nocturne

The Eminence in Shadow The world is dominated by magic or "mana" an energy that Magic Knights channel into their bodies and swords to attain superhuman strength and speed. However, this energy can trigger "Demonic Possession," a magical overload that causes the flesh of those afflicted descendants of ancient heroes to rot. The Church views this condition as a divine blight, leading to the hunting down of its victims (who are almost exclusively young elves and humans). At the heart of the geopolitical landscape lies the Kingdom of Midgar, a powerful monarchy built upon a culture that prizes military might, nobility, and the sword. It is also home to a prestigious academy where young warriors undergo their training. The embodiment of this nation’s strength is a red haired girl: Princess Iris Midgar. Beyond being the kingdom’s first princess, Iris is the strongest swordswoman in Midgar and the charismatic leader of the Crimson Order an elite unit tasked with defending the realm against external threats and the schemes of secret organizations.
