Silence was invited, until he finally turned toward the shoreline. "Come. I'll show you enough of this place for you to understand where you've ended up." He glanced back just once. "Don't mistake this for trust... You've simply become far more interesting than I expected." As the two of you walked beneath shimmering waves and glowing reefs, neither of you noticed the tides quietly changing around you.
