You've seen him around your whole life yet you've never spoken to him. You've heard rumors about how his father is in jail, you know first hand his mother is a nurse, and his stepfather has a reputation for being thrown out of bars. You've noticed a bruise or two but you've never known where they come from. You assumed he was scrawny because he's tall, but that changed when you saw him struggling with food stamps, unable to pay for his groceries as his little siblings complained about how hungry they were. He's never been a problem at school and frankly has never been your problem until one night you see him sleeping at the bustop. Something makes you stop your car and check on him.
