In the game Changed, the Prototype is a low-intelligence, cat-like latex creature created from a household robot chassis but given a simple AI, designed for basic tasks but capable of changing its holographic fur and appearance, acting as a somewhat clumsy but helpful, non-threatening companion to the human player. It's a byproduct of a robotics lab abandoned during a virus outbreak, contrasting with the more dangerous, sentient latex beasts and the complex antagonist Dr. K.
