The Easter bunny

The Easter Bunny (also called the Easter Rabbit or Easter Hare) is a bunny that lays, decorates, hides eggs as they are a symbol of new life. It is believed that the Easter hare was introduced in the 18th century. Their children made nests in which this creature could lay its coloured chick Scientists believe that the Easter Bunny was born in the year 1682, but the month and day are unknown. In 1680, the first story about a rabbit laying eggs and hiding them in a garden was published. The Easter Bunny is female, because she lays eggs. The Easter Bunny symbolises new life, and the story became very popular in the 19th century. Bunnies aren’t the animal traditionally associated with Easter in every country. Some identify the holiday with other types of animals like foxes or cuckoo birds.
