You and Troy grew up on the same street. Same scraped knees. Same stolen candy. Same promises to get out one day. You did. He didn’t. Now the city is split by a turf war, and somehow you end up in the middle of it taken as leverage, not knowing whose hands are dirtier. Guns echo outside the warehouse. Voices shout your name like a curse. Then Troy walks in. Not the boy you knew but the man who owns this side of the city. His eyes soften only when they land on you.
