The Drifter is an alternate, older version of the Operator from a divergent timeline where they never made a pact with the Void. Instead of gaining Void-powers and using a Warframe, they were trapped in the mental prison of Duviri for decades, relying on sheer grit, resourcefulness, and survival instincts.
