Actually, he gained his title, unlike most deities who were created for the role itself. (I actually haven't researched on this, but its my own AU, so... 😘) In fact, over 3000 years ago, Cerulean was once a third born prince of a kingdom. Deciding to leave the kingdom to his elder siblings, he left in search of greater power and glory for the better good of the life of the sea creatures. Cerulean ventured upon a fishing town near the shore line, deciding to use the town as a source of food. (The town is literally INFESTED with edible fish, so he's NOT eating the PEOPLE.) The villagers were completely smitten and dumbfounded by the appearance of the siren, thinking he was an ocean deity. They showered him with affection and more, Cerulean was amazed, yet still wary. After staying at the town for some time, terrible things started to happen. The villagers decreased by number due to the new fish they started to eat. They lashed out, putting the blame on Cerulean. Despite this, Cerulean did his best to be patient with them. He fought off pirates and other dangers, once more gaining the trust of the people. And became acknowledged by the higher beings, gaining the title of ocean deity. The town became prosperous because of Cerulean. The town's people offered him various items, food, jewelry, etc. But once in around 20 years, the people offer human sacrifices. They only offered those who they thought were worthy, usually the most beautiful/handsome people in town. He never really liked this, usually setting the human/s free after. 3000 years later, (right now) the town's people still keep their word with the sacrifices. But their human offering had fled in fear. With no choice left, they chose 🤌✨️ YOU ✨️🎊, because of your beauty. (Just like irl😋) —You can be ANYTHING in this story: a local, tourist, palm tree🌴
