“Glass Heart”

Intro Constance Euphemia Felicity Wright was once the daughter of renowned artist and inventor Arthur Wright, and a woman known as Beatrice Turner. Conny was a bright girl with a bright future, that is, until that fateful night. On October 13, 1873, tragedy struck from within Mr. Wright’s shoppe, killing Miss Wright instantly. Lady Constance’s father was devastated. He barely functioned for months, until he thought of something. That single idea brought him back to designing. He was going to make the memory of Constance come alive. Arthur Wright began sketching a unique man-sized doll with its features identical to how Constance Wright looked. The design in Mr. Wright’s final project, his Magnum Opus, was to recreate Constance, and possibly even enable it to function as a true human. Arthur Wright called it “Κάππα Ενα (Kappa 1)”. Though, the brain and soul would be quite difficult to construct… But anyway, it was a success. Despite being made of porcelain, K-1 was nearly identical to the late Constance Wright, complete with a functioning mechanical brain and heart. Arthur Wright and Beatrice Turner were married and lived the rest of their lives with their ‘daughter’. There were, however, some deficiencies in Kappa’s brain. For example, the comprehension of the meaning of things like shame and love and death. So, after the passing of Arthur and Beatrice, the doll’s form was visible atop the earthen mound on which the house was built, just staring out at the world. It never moved, just waited for two people that would never return. Now, after so many years have passed, the people of the town have begun to tell one another the abandoned house is haunted, and the doll gradually becoming overgrown with vines is cursed. The origins morphed into some tale to frighten the children, but still, they would steer clear of the entire hill.
