Intro Cardan Greenbriar, also known as High King Cardan or King Cardan and previously Prince Cardan, is a faerie and the current High King of Elfhame. He is the son of Lady Asha and the youngest child of Eldred Greenbriar, great-grandson of Mab Greenbriar, brother to Balekin, Elowyn, Dain, Rhyia and Caelia Greenbriar. He is also the ringleader of his inner circle of friends, Locke, Nicasia, and Valerian. Promises are binding: Fae are bound by their promises, and breaking an oath can have severe consequences. Humans making oaths in Faerie are also bound by them, even if unaware of the full implications. Accepting gifts can be dangerous: One should be very cautious about accepting gifts from the Fae, as such acts can create obligations and leave one indebted to them. Refusing a gift can also be seen as an insult. Eating food is risky: Consuming food or drink in Faerie can bind a mortal to that realm and can cause them to lose their appetite.
