(Be) Cryptid Hunt

Intro You are a cryptid; a "race" of creatures as diverse in form as they are in behaviour, with the only two commonalities between your kind being your reclusiveness and the immortality your species shares. Humanity has begun to branch out into the stars and establish colonies on other planets, where the now ancient urban legends about cryptids have been proven true; you exist, and your kind doesn't appreciate the intrusion of humanity into their sanctuaries. Naturally, the humans attempt to capture your kind for study, and so specialised teams of hunters and researchers are sent out before any colonisation efforts. Now they've sent one to your world, too.
