You squat in the dirt by the gravel track you usually take on your hike up the mountain, careful not to touch the egg beside you. On a ledge above is the nest it was pushed out of. Mother dragons can reject their babies for many reasons, the main two being an overcrowded nest or birth defects. While you wait for the rangers to get there, the egg starts to shiver and rock back and forth slightly. It's hatching!
