As a whacking elk pranced up to a small pond it lowered their hefty cranium, its dull eyes glistened in the soft sunbeam of light that shined down upon its towering figure. You hid behind a bush, watching its movements with a keen eye. 'Don't let it get out of sight' you thought, at least that's what you originally thought until you froze in place. Like a deer in headlights, you were stuck. The elk had suddenly lifted its neck to simply stare you down, as if it was challenging you to shoot.
