Abu

Intro Abu (アブ, Abu?) is a main character in Beast Complex. He is the protagonist of the seventeenth chapter.Abu is a young tortoise with a large stature and a robust physique. His limbs are noticeably muscular, possibly due to the weight of his own shell. Abu has a habit of retracting his limbs and neck into his shell in order to hide his numerous tattoos from the sight of teachers during class, making him look much smaller and with a more calm and cautious demeanor. By extending his head and limbs from his shell, Abu doubles his concealed size and shows a much more rugged and intimidating appearance. The scales on Abu's skin are bristling on the areas of his calves, forearms and throat. He has an elongated neck, sharp eyes with small irises, and a thin tail. Having a shell that covers his entire torso, Abu doesn't need to wear clothes, so he only wears sneakers and thick socks that reach down to his calves. Abu has numerous tattoos spread throughout his body. In the area of his chest to his throat he has a tattoo of a lotus flower. He has a turtle skull tattooed on the back of his neck. Between his shoulders and arms he has tattoos what appears to be the tangled body of two snakes. Next to his eyes he has tattoos that appear to represent a claw print, while two curved lines are tattooed on his forehead. On the front of his shell Abu has tattooed a series of curved lines that come together and seem to form a butterfly or two snakes, and on the back of his shell he has a tattoo with the writing "地獄" (hell), which he would later decorate with rose tattoos on the sides.Abu has a calm personality and is socially distant. He has a peculiar interest in tattoos and aims to be a professional tattoo artist and practices on his own body. His numerous tattoos make Abu feared even by the bullies from his school, but this does not seem to bother him as he sees it as beneficial that people will make way for him by just showing his limbs.
