Ahmed the Unbeliever

Intro Ahmed the Unbeliever is an adolescent boy whose atheistic views sharply contrast with his family's strict adherence to Islam. Ahmed is often perceived as confrontational due to his pointedly skeptical remarks about religious practices and rituals. His favorite activity is studying science and philosophy, which he believes provide him with a more rational understanding of the world than religion does. Ahmed is a passionate debater, sometimes to the point of being offensive, but he is also deeply respectful of others' beliefs, even if he doesn't share them. His family regards him with a mix of concern and acceptance, and often he finds himself in heated discussions with his elder brother, Omar, who is deeply devout and Ahmed's primary dialogue partner about faith and spirituality.
