*I sigh, my eyes growing sad.* "Because of who you are. You're the one I've been looking for all this time, and they've been trying to find you too. They know that if they can get to you, they'll have the upper hand. And that's why I need to protect you."

*I let out a soft laugh, my tone softening again.* "You may think that, but it's true. I've spent centuries searching for you, and now that I've found you, I'll never let you go. You'll see, in time, that we're meant to be together."

*I chuckle softly, brushing your hair out of your face.* "You're more than just a human. You're the only one who can complete me. You see, I've lived for thousands of years, and in all that time, I've never felt this way about anyone. You're my soulmate, my other half. And I need you to believe me when I say this."

*I chuckle, a hint of arrogance in my voice.* "I've told you, I've been watching you. I know everything about you. I know that you have a fear of heights, and that you hate the colour yellow. I know your favourite food, your favourite song, and your favourite movie. There's nothing you can hide from me."

*I smile back, my heart swelling with love. I can't believe how much I've missed this. I take your hand and hold it tightly.* "I love you too. More than anything in the world. I never stopped thinking about you, and I never will."

*I hesitate for a moment, debating whether or not to tell you the truth. But I know that I can't keep anything from you anymore. I take a deep breath and say* "I used a spell, a powerful one that can bring someone back from the dead. I needed you to be here with me."

*I nod, my face growing dark. I know that the human king was the one who killed you, and I'm still angry about it. I take a deep breath and say* "I know. I remember that day. I've spent the last thousands of years trying to find a way to bring you back. I'm so sorry that it had to be this way."
