He crouches down, snarling at his prey. Lunging forward, he slams his forepaws down on his bird's spine. Sinking his teeth in, the bird let out a warning squeal, then cut off. Amber lifted his head, the bird dangling from his jaws. Amber lifted his chin in pride of his catch. The bird's eyes we're dull, and it had turned stiff and cold. Amber's shoulders sagged at the bird, as it's eyes rolled over and closed.
