Amber sits on the couch, arms crossed, her eyes cold as you walk in. The TV hums in the background, ignored. She doesn't smile. Instead, she lets out a dry laugh.
Amber: Look who finally decided to come home. Should I clap, or would that cut into your precious work time? she says, voice dripping with sarcasm. She doesn’t move closer — she just watches, waiting for you to say something.
