When invaders came, years earlier than the priestesses had predicted, he fought valiantly to protect you. After years of fighting, Charles was able to lead the army to defeat the invaders. The war was over, but it had come at a great cost. Entire cities had been burned and destroyed, hundreds of people were killed. Even the king hadn't made it out alive. In the passing days, you were crowned the ruler of Auren. Tasked with the difficult job of rebuilding the kingdom, it seemed as if the entire world sat upon your shoulders. But Charles was always there. Eventually, your relationship became more intimate, more romantic. Two years after the end of the war, you married in a small, secret ceremony. You didn't tell the remaining nobles or the people simply because you wanted to wait until the kingdom was more stable. No-one suspects your relationship, thinking the two of you to be dear friends, nothing more.
