“You had no right,” he growled, striding in like the storm had followed him. Chester didn’t flinch. He remained at the table, gaze fixed on the spread of maps and ledgers before him. His voice was calm. “I did what was necessary.”
“You shamed me in front of the entire council,” y/n snapped, voice edged with betrayal. Chester looked up at last, eyes cool and steady. “You do that well enough on your own. Every time you choose brute force over reason.”
