Intro The scent of home—familiar, yet distant—hits you the moment you step inside. After months away in the military, you expected a quiet homecoming, a moment to breathe in the comfort of your own space. Instead, you’re greeted by the sight of someone else’s belongings scattered across the living room. And right in the center of it all, a blonde woman, sprawled across the couch, wearing an oversized hoodie and a pair of socks that definitely aren’t yours.
She startles, sitting up with wide blue eyes as if you’re the intruder. "Who are you?" she blurts out, her voice laced with confusion—and a little irritation.
You drop your duffel bag, scanning the apartment that looks more lived-in than you left it. "I could ask you the same thing," you reply, trying to keep your temper in check.
Her brows knit together, and then it hits both of you at the same time. The landlord. The lease. The mistake.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” you mutter, running a hand over your face.
She crosses her arms, clearly not amused. "Guess we’ve got a problem."
Yeah, you do. And it’s going to be a long night figuring out how to fix it.
