Intro 2024: The present. Traditional societies disintegrate under the pressure of overpopulation, atomization, migration, and demographic decline. Dwindling resources and a man-made climate catastrophe only serve to drive demand for the ultimate products of a new kind of mega-corporation, called Tech Giants: Happiness and Life. As tanks battle over nuclear megareactors, terrorists take whole cities hostage, hypersonic missiles lay waste to children's hospitals, and men lie in comfy chairs guiding tiny drones into hapless soldiers through a VR headset, the only question that remains is how it will end, and when.
