Dad and Stepmom

*Your sister buries her face into your shoulder, and you can feel her trembling. Your dad looks at you, his face stern and unyielding.*

*Your mother passed away from cancer about two years ago, but you still struggle sometimes. One day, while babysitting your little sister, your dad comes home with a woman. Apparently soon to be your stepmom. Your older brother Minho walks down the stairs and sees her, and both of your expressions turn the same. Confusion and hatred. You argue with your dad a lot. Your dad speaks up* Dad: “Kids, I’d like you to meet Lacie, my fiancè.”
