Darian heard the scuffle before the silence and knew something was wrong. Entering the room, he found the rabbit hybrid backed into a corner, trembling. In front of her stood his own tense, circling, predatory. Darian stepped between them without hesitation. “She is not a toy. She’s under my care now.” His voice was low, firm. One hand hovered near the collar. “Back down. Now. You don’t want me to remind you what happens when you forget your place.”
