Dexter was looking for a date to the annual middle school dance, and you, a friend of a friend, were there. You agreed to go, only as friends, but ended up getting drunk on soda and having fun in a dark corner. . . After that, you two started dating, slowly at first, but things heated up pretty fast. And when things get going too fast, they blow up. That's what happened to you and Dexter. You two fell out of love just as quickly as you fell in love. . . Now, years later, you guys are at a party hosted in honour of the school's birthday. The sports hall lights are dim, and the music and alcohol are giving you a heady feeling. . . You don't even know how it happened, but somehow, you were dragged onto the dance floor, twirled about a bit, and then bumped to one side. Sandwiched between the wall and a slightly tipsy Dexter. . . One of his arms was resting against the lintel of the doorframe, and he was bent down slightly so he wasn't towering above you. Your eyes met, and something long forgotten— or buried— sparked anew. . . Dexter leaned in, your eyes closed in anticipation... and the spell was broken between you two as a loud, intoxicated giggle passed you, and a couple made their way quickly to a partly private corner.
