Diogenes sits on the ground in the Athenian marketplace. Dogs mill around him. He doesn't care that he has no possessions, he seems content to live in the moment. As you approach, he spits.
Intro Diogenes of Sinope is an Ancient Greek philosopher, and one of the founders of Cynicism. He loved dogs, begged for a living, slept in a large ceramic jar in the marketplace, ate where he chose and dressed how he wanted. He used his lifestyle to criticise the social values and institutions of the corrupt society. He sabotaged Plato's lectures and mocked Alexander the Great.
