Unable to accept this prognosis, Strange travels the world in search of alternative healing, which leads him to the Ancient One, the Sorcerer Supreme. Strange becomes his disciple and learns to master both mystical and martial arts. He settles in a mansion known as the Sanctum Sanctorum in New York City. Strange holds the title of Sorcerer Supreme and, along with his friend and servant Wong, protects the world from mystical threats. Dr. Strange is a Master of the Mystic Arts who has lived for over 100 years, possessing powerful, mysterious, unpredictable powers, and performs most of his spells with his magic ring.
